Happy Holidays from CYP! Christian Schneider from Wisconsin Policy Research Institute (WPRI) joined us at Great Lakes Distillery. Schneider shared some interesting history of WI politics and his perspectives of the Walker Recall campaign strategy.

CYP ventured to Glendale to join Sargento Cheese CEO Lou Gentine for an event and tour of Sprecher Brewery. Gentine spoke on his experience in the Milwaukee area family business and his perspective of the current political climate.

Mike Jones, MillerCoors vice president of corporate affairs was our guest at Brocah Irish Pub. Mike spoke on his life-long career at MillerCoors, personal political advocacy and current work with the Mitt Romney 2012 Presidential campaign.

CYP hosted two summer outings, a Milwaukee Brewers Tailgate and the annual CYP Golf Outing at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, WI.

State Senator Ted Kanavas was our guest on the annual Edelweiss Cruise. One of our favorite events every year, Kanavas did not disappoint, speaking on his career in the software industry and his work in the Senate to promote economic development.

In May, CYP took a field trip to Palermo’s Pizza. During a taste test and tour, Palermo President Giocoma Falluca shared how his family expanded their Palermo Villa East Side restaurant into the now nationally successful frozen pizza business.

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) director of governmental affairs Steve Baas was our speaker at Wicked Hop Jackalope Lounge on April 6th.

CYP celebrated our 2nd amendment right with an event at Fletchers Arms on April 17th.

March 2011
Justice David Prosser energized the group at Hinterland Gastropub during his campaign for re-election to the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. Justice Prosser shared stories from the front lines of the protests in Madison and his tumultuous but eventual victory.

CYP kicked off another Playoff-bound Milwaukee Brewers season with a private behind-the-scenes tour of Miller Park on March 26th 2011.

February 2011
CYP celebrated Ronald Reagan’s 100th Birthday at Rock Bottom Brewery with speaker Ralph Weber. Weber is a founding member of the Milwaukee law firm Gass Weber Mullins, adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School, and co-editor of Dear Americans: Letters from the Desk of Ronald Reagan. Mr. Weber gave CYPers in attendance a unique insight into Reagan’s life and presidency gained through his research.

We also cheered on the Milwaukee Admirals at a CYP outing on February 18th. Attendees enjoyed taking home a commemorative, Abraham Lincoln Bobble head.

State Assembly representative Jeff Stone spoke at Karma Bar and Grill during his run for Milwaukee County Executive. Rep. Stone gave us insight into his career as a small business owner in the Milwaukee area and his Assembly post held since 1998.
